Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations, otherwise known as CAFOs, can be defined as factory farms where livestock is raised and later slaughtered to feed a good percentage of the world's population. These CAFOs can be a great threat to the environment by polluting the environment in ways that include: unsustainable waste manegement, water pollution, and most specifically air pollution. The world depends greatly on factory farms that shutting them down would be a foolish thing to do, which is why there are other alternatives available to help fix the problem. This is why the policy Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gases, is trying to be implemented and enforced which is a small way to start creating change. With the enforcement of the policy, facilities like CAFOs, will be obligated to report how many pollutuants(specifically GHGs) they emit per year.
